Required: Almost every home owner will not begin to think about flood insurance until they find out is required. Virtually all mortgage loan papers have a clause stating if your property is located in a flood zone you will carry flood insurance. There is also one for earth quake insurance and, of course, fire insurance.
Personal Property: Coverage for personal property on the Premises. This coverage is not required by the mortgage company and not provided in your policy unless requested. Just for your information, if a flood does happen the first thing damaged in a home is the contents.
